Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and brake system issues to minimize equipment downtime.
• Complete preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid checks.
• Conduct safety inspections before and after repairs.
• Perform trailer maintenance and repair as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance performed, and replacement parts.
• Ensure all equipment meets company and regulatory safety standards.
• Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Diesel Mechanic Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Technician, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brake systems, and trailer repair.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Welding experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
