Prep Cook | Food Service | 1st Shift | No Weekends

Are you looking for a stable first shift food service position with a consistent schedule and weekends off? We are seeking a Prep Cook to join a fast-paced kitchen team preparing large-volume meals for school lunch programs.

The Advance Group has partnered with an organization in Perrysburg, Ohio who is looking for dependable Prep Cook candidates who enjoy working in a team environment and have experience preparing food in a commercial kitchen setting. This is a great opportunity for someone with food service, banquet, cafeteria, or large-scale cooking experience who enjoys staying busy and being part of a team.

Job duties for Prep Cook:
* Prepare ingredients and meals for large-volume school lunch programs
* Prep food one day and cook meals the following day according to recipes and instructions
* Cut vegetables, mix ingredients, prepare recipes, and operate kitchen equipment including ovens
* Cook large quantities of food such as cheesy potatoes, sloppy joes, chili, tacos, and other homestyle meals
* Monitor food quality and ensure proper cooking temperatures are maintained
* Prepare bulk meals in a banquet-style environment (not individual meals)
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
* Follow food safety guidelines and proper sanitation procedures
* Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while supporting the team

Requirements for Prep Cook candidates:
* Previous food service, commercial kitchen, banquet, cafeteria, or large-volume cooking experience preferred
* Strong knife skills required
* Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food temperatures required
* ServSafe certification or experience preferred
* Experience with large-batch cooking is a plus
* Must be dependable, motivated, and able to work well with a team
* Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team environment
* Comfortable standing for an entire shift and working in a warm kitchen environment
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for the entire shift, and work in a hot environment
* Ability to pass a pre-employment background check

Shift for Prep Cook:
* Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:00 PM
* Weekends are rarely required and would be voluntary if needed
* Minimal overtime, with occasional extended hours during busy seasons such as holidays or the start of the school year

Pay for Prep Cook:
* Starting pay: $15/hour
* $16/hour may be considered based on experience
